Horwood Lake is known not only for its beauty, but also that it is a very healthy naturally producing lake. Its large size and low level fishing pressure contribute to ensuring Horwood Lake will remain rated amongst the top for years to come. Horwood Lake Lodge has been the subject of numerous fishing shows but we prefer to think the success is shown on the smiles of our guests who have caught their dream that day and can’t wait to tell us.

Horwood Lake Orientation
At Horwood Lake Lodge, we will give you one of the best orientation briefings for both your equipment and of the lake. You are provided not only with a detailed fishing and structure map of Horwood Lake, but also shown proven techniques and equipment we recommend. We are more than happy to review what works and doesn’t work with you and provide options we offer in Horwood Lake Lodge’s fully equipped tackle and bait shop. We can even show you how to bait your hook properly with minnows or night crawlers.
The Prettiest Lake in Northern Ontario!
You will be provided with a map and go over it with you, suggest hot spots and explain techniques to use. Be assured… you do not have to lose sight of our lodge to catch limits of fish! Whether it’s walleye, northern pike or smallmouth bass, there is always a variety of fish to catch at Horwood Lake Lodge. The spring and river fed waters of Horwood Lake offer the perfect setting for your next Northern Ontario fishing vacation.
Your package at Horwood Lake Lodge includes a well equipped and dependable boat and motor. Some of our guests may wish to venture down to Women River falls for the day. We can provide you with information and directions to that scenic spot as well as other shore lunch areas, trolling areas, swimming holes and other scenic landmarks of interest.
Live Bait, tackle, ice, soda pop, water and snacks are all available for sale at the lodge. The staff at Horwood Lake Lodge will also go over fishing regulations and boat safety guidelines with you, but please be sure to purchase your Ontario Outdoors Card and Ontario Fishing License prior to your arrival. Alternatively, you can visit one of many retail license issuers that sell them (in Timmins and Sudbury, for instance).
Our Fleet of Boats
Horwood Lake Lodge provides you with a fleet of 16′ MirroCraft, open flat floored boats that come with high-backed swivel seats, depth finders, aerated live wells and powered by 4-Stroke, 20hp engines. These boats are included as our deluxe boats at no extra cost, while you enjoy your stay with us here at Horwood Lake Lodge.
